Saving The Slowest Mammal On Earth | SloCo on PBS Nature

We’re thrilled to share that SloCo’s work, featuring Dr. Rebecca Cliffe and our Project Manager Tamara, is highlighted in the latest episode of In Her Nature, a PBS documentary series. The episode, titled Saving the Slowest Mammal on Earth, explores our efforts to study and protect wild sloths in Costa Rica.

This inspiring series celebrates the conservation efforts led by women, captured through the lens of an award-winning, all-female production team.

In this 40-minute episode, you’ll follow the journey of our team working in the Urban Sloth Project (with a special appearance by Mango!), the Great Sloth Census alongside Keysha, our detection dog, and learn about the impact of our Connected Gardens project and conservation initiatives.

“A sloth scientist, her tree-climbing BFF, and their dog work to save Costa Rica’s sloth populations in groundbreaking ways, all while capturing rarely seen wild sloth behaviors and reimagining what it means to be a woman in conservation. “
